CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Ron Fitzwater called the November 6, 2023 City Council “Pre-Meeting” to order at 5:46 P.M.
to review the agenda.
ATTENDANCE
The following Councilmembers were present when the meeting convened:
Present: Ahlers, Deeken*, Hensley, Lester, Mealy, Schwartz, Spencer, Spicer, Wiseman, and
Wright
Absent: None
*Participated virtually.
DISCUSSION OF AGENDA ITEMS
Councilm ember Schwartz will lead the prayer.
Appointments by the Mayor
- Two appointments are on the agenda, each requiring a roll call vote.
Presentation from Staff, Consultants, and Invited Guests
- Paul Sampson of JCREP and Eric Landwehr of Cole County will present a Capital Area Rail
Terminal (C.A.R.T.) update.
- Diane Gillespie, Director of the Jefferson City Convention & Visitors Bureau, will present
their budget. A roll call vote to accept the budget is necessary.
- Shiela Pearre, Director of Finance and I.T. will present the City’s monthly financial update.
Announcements
- Matt Morasch, Director of Public Works will announce the High Street Viaduct Public
Meeting scheduled for November 7th, 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. at City Hall.
Consent Agenda
- There were no questions at this time.
Bills Introduced
- City Staff presented their bills to be introduced. At the request of City Staff, Councilmember
Spencer, sponsor of bill 2023-054 will suspend the rules for third reading and passage of the
bill.
Bills Pending
- City Staff presented their pending bill.
Informal Calendar
- Councilmember Ahlers intends to leave bill 2023-045 on the informal calendar.
