Leesburg’s Kenneth B. Rollins Water Filtration Plant Receives
14th Consecutive Annual State Award for Excellence
Leesburg, VA (April 17, 2018) – The Virginia Department of Health (VDH) has awarded the
Leesburg Department of Utilities Water Supply Division with an Excellence in Waterworks
Operations/Performance Award. This year marks the 14th consecutive time that Leesburg has
received this annual award.
Each year, the VDH Office of Drinking Water Recognition Program recognizes water systems
that have demonstrated excellence in performance and operations and for the treatment and
distribution of drinking water to the public. Excellence in performance and operations involve
setting and achieving goals well beyond the established regulations and making a commitment
to customer satisfaction.
The 2018 Excellence Performance Awards were presented at the annual Southeast Rural
Community Assistance Project “Water is Life!” Conference on April 11 in Roanoke.
“This award is a well-deserved recognition for the day-in, day-out hard work and dedication of
our water plant staff,” said Kaj Dentler, Leesburg’s Town Manager. “The Town has set a high bar
for the performance of the water plant and our staff continue to meet or exceed those
expectations, every day.”
