RESOLUTION NO. 98 -3650
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY
EULOGIZING CHESTER L. OTTING AND EXPRESSING CONDOLENCES TO
HIS FAMILY
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE:
WHEREAS, the death of Chester L. Otting, a long -time resident and businessman of Temple City, was
brought to the attention of the City Council; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Otting was very active in Temple City activities and was a driving force during the
incorporation of Temple City; and
WHEREAS, Chet Otting was an active member of the Chamber of Commerce for many years, and in 1965
was elected Chamber President; and
WHEREAS, in 1979, Chet Otting was named Citizen of the Year; and
WHEREAS, his other activities included working on the Camellia Festival as a resident and later serving
as Chairman of the Festival, and ultimately was named the Honorary Grand Marshal in 1986; and
WHEREAS, in 1953, Chet Otting joined the Kiwanis Club of Temple City and became a valued and loved
member.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT the City of Temple City does hereby express its
Icondolences to the family of Chester L. Otting in their hour of bereavement and acknowledge that he shall be
sorely missed by his friends and business associates in Temple City.
SECTION 1. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution.

I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution, Resolution No. 98 -3650 was duly adopted by the City Council
of the City of Temple City at a regular meeting held on the 20th of January 1998, by the following vote:
AYES: Councilman- Breazeal, Brook, Wilson, Gillanders, Souder
NOES: Councilman-None
ABSENT: Councilman -None
