A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE RELEASE OF THE REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS~(RFP)
TO SOLICIT BIDS FOR NETWORK -;MULTI=FUNCTION-`DIGITA`L
COPIERS/PRINTERS/SCANNERS AND MAINTENANCE SERVICES TO MEET
THE CITY'S HIGH VOLUME COPYING AND PRINTING NEEDS
WHEREAS, the City currently has eight copying/printing machines on
lease with Xerox, Riso, and Ikon located in City Hall, City Hall North, City Hall
Annex, and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, departments entered into separate agreements for these
copying /printing machines on their own to handle their high volume copying and
printing needs; and

WHEREAS, copier problems are constant on some machines and service
has been poor on several occasions; and
WHEREAS, staff would like to consolidate these contracts in an effort to
lower costs, more efficiently manage the machines, and minimize downtime while
and obtaining high quality copies and services; and
WHEREAS, the estimated cost to operate leased copiers/printers for all
departments with the existing contracts is approximately $92,995 per year and
preliminary research shows that the City could save up to $12,000 per year.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood approves and
authorizes the release of the request for proposal for network multi-function
digital copiers/printers/scanners and services to provide the City with its high
volume copying and printing needs.
Section 2. This resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its
adoption.
