Animal Shelter Advisory Committee Meeting
Tuesday, March 23 2023
Members Present:
Dr. Greg Boyer, Chair
Matthew Barry, Animal Control Manager Dr. Jessica Greene
Dr. Travis Schaller, Shelter Veterinarian Lt. Chad Stieferman
The Animal Shelter Committee met for a regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday March 21 at 12:30 p.m. in the
Conference Room, Jefferson City Animal Shelter, 2308 Hyde Park Road, Jefferson City Missouri. The meeting was called
to order by Dr. Boyer, Chair.
Approval of Minutes
Dr Boyer moved to approve the minutes from the previous meeting. Dr. Greene seconded the motion.
Staff Reports
Matthew Barry advised that there are currently two employees on light duty and one out with an injury. Matthew Barry
also advised that a Veterinary Assistant had been hired and will start on April 10th and that there is still an open Animal
Control Officer Position.
Matthew Barry also explained that the shelters adoption numbers are similar to what they have been in past years,
Dr Schaller advised currently the shelter is not having a problem with infectious diseases.
Written Correspondence
There was no Written Correspondence to discuss.
Old Business
Dr. Boyer brought up the Shelter being closed on Saturdays and stated that in the adoption numbers justify the shelter
being closed on Saturdays.

Lt Stieferman stated that although the Shelter is closed on Saturdays the hours have been extended throughout the
week.
