were from a single source that does TNR. Lt. Stieferman suggested that if a cat is dropped off at the Shelter from a non-
profit that have been examined by a Vet prior to arrival. Dr Boyer stated that they don’t check for panleukopenia. Dr.
Beddoe stated best practice would be for cats to be quarantined 10 to 14 days after being dropped off and their health
monitored. Matthew Barry stated this would not be realistic. Dr. Boyer advised that TNR can be a disease reservoir. Dr
Greene asked if there were changes made to intake policies if they would be for everyone. Matthew Barry advised it
was being looked into to be determined after further discussion.
Matthew Barry advised there are two dogs at the Shelter that have been here for 190 days owned by someone who is
currently incarcerated. Lt. Stieferman stated the dogs are being held due to a court ruling them to be preserved as
evidence. Matthew Barry also advised that these two dogs take up 2 of the 3 isolation cages for dogs at the shelter
making hard to keep sick dogs out of the general population.
