September 2, 2009 Dear Commissioner/Board Member: On behalf of the Lynwood City Clerk, please accept this invitation to attend the upcoming Ethics Training for Elected Officials and Commissioners/Board Members. This is a great educational training opportunity and is required for all Elected Officials and Commissioners/Board Members that serve in a local agency, per AB 1234, signed by the Governor, on October 5, 2005. The training will take place as follows: Date: Tuesday, September 29, 2009 Time: 4:00 p.m. - 6:45 p.m. Location: Bateman Hall Auditorium 11331 Ernestine Ave. Lynwood, CA 90262 Training Schedule: Check in 3:45 pm to 4:00 pm Overview of the Brown Act 4:00 pm to 4:45 pm Presenter: Fred Galante Roberts Rules of Order & Decorum 4:45 pm - 5:15 pm Presenter: Fred Galante ~ ~- Break ~ 5:15 pm - 5:30 pm Ethics Compliance Training 5:30 pm - 6:45 pm Presenter: Doug Haubert Elected Officials and Commissioners/Board Members that are unable to attend can also complete the training on-line by accessing the Fair Political Practices website at www.fooc.ca.cov and selecting AB1234 Ethics Training for Local Officials from the menu at the left of the home page. You must take the training on-line for 2 hours to earn a valid certificate. Certificates must be turned into the City Clerk's office for validation.
