Leesburg Residents Should Receive 2018 Personal Property Tax
Bills in the Mail Next Week
Due date for personal property tax bills is Tuesday, June 19, 2018.
Leesburg, VA (May 24, 2018) – This week, the Town of Leesburg mailed town personal property
tax bills for the 2018 tax year. Leesburg residents should expect to see bills in their mailboxes
next week.
Taxpayers can access and pay their personal property tax bills online now using the C ustomer
Self Service Portal on the Town website at www.leesburgva.gov/customerportal.
Bills are due on Tuesday, June 19, 2018. In March, due to the delayed bill delivery, the Leesburg
Town Council extended the due date from May 5, 2018, to June 19, 2018.
Personal property tax bills are based on the assessed value of vehicles parked, stored or
garaged in Leesburg as of January 1 of each year. The Town of Leesburg does not pro-rate
personal property taxes. Vehicles purchased or moved into Leesburg after January 1 will not be
billed for personal property taxes until the following year.
In 2017, the Leesburg Town Council eliminated the requirement for Leesburg taxpayers to
display vehicle decals as proof of town registration. The vehicle license fees are included on
personal property tax bills, but no decals are issued.
Taxpayers with questions about their tax bills can call the Town’s Finance Department at 703 -
771-2726 or email pptax@leesburgva.gov.
