New Exhibit at Leesburg Town Hall Features Work of
Waterford Photographer Roger Lancaster
Photographs will be on display through August 2018.
Leesburg, VA (May 29, 2018) –
Waterford photographer Roger
Lancaster is the featured artist
during this summer’s exhibit at
the Leesburg Town Hall.
Lancaster’s exhibit, titled “Scene
from My Eyes,” features a series
of themed vignettes ranging from
“Scenes of Loudoun” to “Scenes
from Hands at Work.” Over 40 of
his images will be on display until
August 31, 2018.
A retired association executive,
Lancaster has been an active
photographer for the past 10 years. His mission in his photography is to bring the outdoors
inside. While his works include landscapes, flora and fauna, and other aspects of nature, he
finds himself branching out to other genre as well. As he says, “I basically shoot what I find
interesting and tend to gravitate toward the out-of-the ordinary.”
Roger has received numerous honors for his photography, includ ing images being selected for
two years running as the Best of Loudoun category, sponsored by the former Loudoun Today
newspaper, at the Waterford Fair. Many of his images have been featured in magazines, on
photography websites, and can be found in many p rivate collections. Active in the Northern
Virginia Photographic Society, Roger is currently President of the Nature Visions Photo Expo, a
major photo exhibit that takes place every fall at George Mason University and has become
recognized as the premier nature photography photo exhibit in the Mid-Atlantic region.
A reception to open the exhibit will be held at the Town Hall on Friday, June 1, 2018, from 6:00
p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
The first floor lobby and hallways of the Leesburg Town Hall feature rotating exhibits by
Leesburg and Loudoun artists. Artists interested having their work considered for a future
exhibit in the Town Hall should contact Anne Geiger, staff liaison to the Commission on Public
Art, at ageiger@leesburgva.gov.
