HomeMy Public PortalAboutRES-CC-1991-06RESOLUTION NO. 06-91 A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE DEVELOPMENT OF A DOWNTOWN VISITOR CENTER WHEREAS, the visiting public will be more conveniently served by having a centralized location for obtaining information on activities and attractions in Southeast Utah; and WHEREAS, the development of a Visitor Information Center/Plaza at the corner of Main and Center Streets in Moab will greatly enhance property values and sales tax collections in the immediate vicinity; and WHEREAS, the Grand County Travel Council will participate as a partner along with the Bureau of Land Management, the National Park Service, the U.S. Forest Service, and the Canyonlands Natural History Association in the operation of the Visitor Information Center/Plaza, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Moab City Council, that the City of Moab supports the concept of the development by Grand County of the proposed Visitor Information Center/Plaza on the corner of Main and Center Streets in Moab, and that the City of Moab, upon completion of construction, hereby agrees to perform day-to-day maintenance of the Plaza grounds and vehicle parking areas so long as the same may be done with cost neutral to the City, if at all possible. 1 PASSED AND APPROVED in open Council by a majority vote of the Governing Body of Moab City Council this 16th day of April , A.D., 1991.
