Mason Enterprise Center Hosts Quarterly HUBZone “Contractor
Chat” on July 30, 2018, in Leesburg
Small businesses interested in federal contracting or HUBZone certification are
invited to attend this free informational meeting.
Leesburg, VA (July 20, 2018) – The Mason Enterprise Center in Leesburg will hold its next
quarterly HUBZone Business Meeting on Monday, July 30, 2018, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at
the Mason Enterprise Center in downtown Leesburg (202 Church Street SE). The meeting is free
and open to all small businesses. Lunch will be provided, sponsored by Dunlap, Bennett and
Ludwig (www.dbllawyers.com).
This quarter’s guest speaker is Anna Urman, Director of the Virginia Procurement Technical
Assistance Program (Virginia PTAP). PTAP’s mission is to increase contracting activity between
small businesses, prime government contractors, and federal and state government agencies.
As director, Anna’s responsibilities are to maintain strategic relationships with government
agencies, small business liaisons, and public-private partnerships. Anna is a leading research
analyst specializing in government procurement policy and mark et analysis. Prior to joining
PTAP, she was the Director of the South Fairfax Small Bus iness Development Center. Anna
holds a Juris Doctor degree from Georgetown University and performed post-graduate work in
government contracts and intellectual property law at George Washington University.
A program of the U.S. Small Business Administration, the HUBZone program helps small
businesses gain preferential access to federal procurement opportunities while increasing
employment opportunities in economically distressed areas. In an effort to assist local
businesses with navigating the HUBZone certification process, the Mason Enterprise Center and
Leesburg Economic Development Office have partnered with technical experts and local business
owners who have completed the process successfully to present quarterly information sharing
meetings.
