REGULAR MEETING OF THE PERSONNEL BOARD
" SEPTEMBER 17, 2009
The regular meeting of the of the Personnel Board of the City of Lynwood was
held on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 5:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of
City Hall, 11330 Bullis Road, Lynwood, California. The agenda was duly posted
as prescribed by the Brown Act. '
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 5:05 p.m. by Chairperson Bradley. Roll call
was taken by Alfredo J Lopez, Human Resources Director.
Commissioner Attendance:
Present -Bradley, Robinson, Espinoza, Lopez, Esparza
Absent= None
Staff Attendance:
Present - Alfredo J Lopez .
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Led by Commissioner Espinoza.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The motion was made by Commissioner Esparza .and seconded by Vice-
.Chairperson Robinson to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 16,
2009. All in favor. Motion carried.
PUBLIC ORALS -None
STUDIES AND REPORTS
Mr. Lopez distributed a copy of the Eligibility List for the position of Office Assistant
II. He then briefly provided the Board with an overview of the recruitment process
and informed the Board that this particular list would be good for one year in case
of a vacancy.
The motion was made by Vice-Chairperson Robinson and seconded by
Commissioner Esparza to approve the Eligibility List for the position of Office
Assistant II. All in favor. Motion carried.

COMMISSIONER & STAFF ORALS
Mr. Lopez informed the Board that the Human Resources had received an appeal
request for anon-disciplinary lay off but will not be heard by the Board until the
Board's vacant seat is filled. Mr. Lopez recommended that the Board start looking
at potential dates to hear the appeal. He will keep the Board informed as to when
the Council appoints someone to fill the vacancy. Chairperson Bradley stated that
she would not be available the week of October 10th thru the 23~d
Mr. Lopez then informed the Board about the upcoming State of the City Address
which will take place on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 from 5:30 pm to 7:30
pm. He then reminded the Board about the upcoming Ethics Training. The City
Clerk mailed out to all City Commissioners/Board members an invitation to attend
the training on Tuesday, September 29th from 4pm to 6:45pm.
Commissioners/Board members can also complete the training on-lirie at the Fair
Political Practices website at www.fppc.ca.gov
Mr. Lopez indicated to the Board that the City Manager approved the filling the
position of Deputy Director of Recreation and Community Services and the position
of Recreation Facility Program Supervisor, both positions are within the Recreation
Department.
Chairperson Bradley stated that she is excited about having a dance coordinator for
the seniors.

Vice-Chairperson Robinson made the motion to adjourn and Commissioner
Espinoza seconded. All in favor. Motion carried. The meeting adjourned at 5:32
