Melanie Scoggins Joins Town of Leesburg as Business
Development and Retention Manager
Leesburg, VA (August 14, 2018) –
The Town of Leesburg announced
that Melanie Scoggins has joined the
Town’s Economic Development
Office as Business Development and
Retention Manager. In her new role,
Scoggins’ primary focus will be
working with the Town’s existing
businesses, ensuring that the Town
remains a strong partner for their
continued success.
Scoggins comes to the Town from
Loudoun County, where she was the
Rural Retention and Marketing Manager for the Department of Economic Development. Prior
positions include the Parks & Recreation Manager for the Town of Purcellville, the Manager of
Online Learning for the National Recreation and Park Association, and the Business Manager for
the City of Suffolk. A native of the Hampton Roads region, Scoggins holds a bachelor of science
in Recreation Resource Management from George Mason University.

Seymour, Leesburg’s Economic Development Director. “Her experience and professionalism
reflect the Town’s commitment to our business community.”
