HomeMy Public PortalAbout12/18/2012 Special CCMSPECIAL MEDINA CITY COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES OF DECEMBER 18, 2012 The City Council of Medina, Minnesota met in special session on December 18, 2012 at 6:10 p.m. in the City Hall Chambers. Mayor Crosby presided. I. ROLL CALL Members present: Crosby, Martinson, Siitari and Weir. Members absent: Pederson Also present: City Planner Dusty Finke, Police Chief Ed Belland, Sergeant Jason Nelson, Pam Anderson 292 Design Group, Paul Kolias RJM, and City Administrator Scott Johnson. II. 600 Clydesdale Trail — Review of Plans and Proposed Improvements Pam Anderson from 292 provided an overview for the City Council of the proposed plans and improvements for the future Public Works/Police facility. Council discussed the salt shed structure, the proposed emergency generator for the facility, lighting upgrades, and a police services space in the mezzanine area. The red stripe on the building will be painted and the small red roof on the front entry will be removed. The salt storage building will be fabric and will be graded to contain the salt. New garage doors will be installed as needed with the project. The project will be bid during the winter. III. Newsletter Layout Proposal Council agreed with staff's recommendation not to move forward with the quote from dk design for layout and design services for the newsletter. Staff will inform dk design of the decision. IV. Comments in Response to Commissioner Johnson's Watershed Proposal The City Council reviewed the comments provided by Council Member Weir regarding Commissioner Johnson's Watershed Proposal. Council directed the City Administrator to submit the comments to the Hennepin County Board in a letter. V.
