CITY OF MEDINA
RESOLUTION NO. 2020-38
RESOLUTION CALLING FOR PUBLIC HEARING
LEVYING SPECIAL ASSESSMENT
FOR HICKORY DRIVE STREET & UTILITY IMPROVEMENT PROJECT
WHEREAS, pursuant to council direction, the city engineer prepared a report regarding the
feasibility of improving Hickory Drive north of Hamel Road and the engineer's report was accepted
by the council on October 6, 2018; and
WHEREAS, following published and mailed notice as required by law, a public hearing
was held in the council chambers at city hall on November 7, 2018, after which hearing the city
council ordered the city engineer to prepare plans and specifications for the making of said
improvement; and
WHEREAS, the city council now wishes to establish a time and place for the public
hearing on the special assessments to be levied regarding the improvements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the city council of the city of Medina,
Minnesota, as follows:
1. A public hearing will be held on August 4, 2020 at 7:00 p.m. either virtually due to COVID-
19 or in the council chambers at city hall to consider the proposed assessment. All persons
owning property affected by the proposed assessment shall be given an opportunity to be
heard at that time.
2. The finance director, with the assistance of the city engineer, is authorized and directed to
calculate the amount to be assessed against every assessable parcel of land and to file a copy
of said proposed assessment in his office for public inspection.
3. The finance director, city engineer and other staff members are authorized and directed to
take any and all actions necessary to bring this matter to the attention of the city council at
the time of said hearing and all other actions necessary or convenient to accomplish the

purposes and intent of this resolution.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member
DesLauriers and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Albers, Anderson, DesLauriers, Martin, Pederson
And the following voted against same:
None
Whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
