Night-time Detours on West Market Street between King and
Wirt Streets from September 9 through 14, 2018
Westbound traffic on Market Street will be detoured onto Loudoun Street.
Leesburg, VA (August 31, 2018) – Repair work to the storm sewer drop inlet on the northwest
corner of King Street and Market Street will take place at night during the week of September 9,
2018.
West Market Street, from King Street to Wirt Street, will be closed to westbound through -traffic
from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. each night beginning on Sunday evening, September 9, through
Friday morning, September 14.
Eastbound traffic will not be affected. Businesses on the north side of West Market Street will
have access to their businesses, but may experience some slight delays.
Once the new concrete is poured, Jersey barriers will be placed around the inlet for several
days to allow the concrete to cure. During this time, trucks traveling southbound on King Street
will not be able to turn right onto West Market Street.
The work schedule is subject to delays for inclement weather or mechanical difficulties. Any
changes will be posted to the Town’s website (www.leesburgva.gov). For more information,
