Commission Business:
The meeting came to order at 9:03 a.m. by Kimberley Woodruff.
Introductions of attendees were made.
Approval of Minutes: The February 16, 2024 minutes were reviewed. A request was made to modify
the minutes by removing Jamie Howard’s middle name from the minutes. A motion to approve the
minutes as modified was made by Frank Rycyk and seconded by Jamie Howard. The motion passed
unanimously.
Introduce Public Information Coordinator: Molly Bryan, the new Public Information Coordinator,
introduced herself and provide information on what her role with the City will be as she moves forward.
Commissioner Development Moment: Jamie Howard provided the development moment for the month
by speaking on a quote by Rear Admiral Grace Hopper: “You don’t manage people; you manage things.
You lead people.”
How to Re-introduce the Human Relations Commission to the Community: Kim Woodruff asked for
additional suggestions on how to accomplish re-introduction. The following ideas were presented:
participating in Earth Day activities on April 21st; attending Porchfest on May 5th; making a presentation
to City Council on May 6th; participating in Juneteenth activities; and participating in the Lincoln
University Homecoming Parade. Divya Arulsamy and Kim Woodruff are continuing to update and restart
the Human Relations Commission Facebook page.
Speaker Series Event Topics: Kim Woodruff would like for the speaker events to have tri-chairs. In the
event that someone would have to pull back due to circumstances beyond their control, this would still
leave multiple individuals to continue working on the event.
New Business: none.
