RESOLUTION NO. 99 -3785
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY AMENDING THE PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS
REGARDING CALPERS HOURLY EXCLUSION
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE,
DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Rule 21, "Salaries and Benefits ", Section 3 "Retirement:" of the Temple City Rules
and Regulations is hereby amended to add Subsection C, as follows:
SEC. 3 "Retirement:"
C. Employees Excluded from CaIPERS Membership:
In accordance with the city's long- standing policy, practice, and interpretation of its "hourly
exclusion" contract language with CaIPERS:
1) The City of Temple City has exempted from CaIPERS membership the following duties,
job classifications, and titles:
• Recreation Leader * (part -time)
• Crossing Guard* (part -time)
• Finance Clerk* (part -time)
• Any type of "Aide* (part- time)" position
• Any type of "Intern *" position
* Please Note: Titles have changed in the past and/or may be subject to change in the
future
2) The City of Temple City also considers the following types of employees to be exempt from
CaIPERS membership regardless of their time base /appointment length or tenure:
• Any employee appointed on a temporary basis
• Any employee appointed on a seasonal basis
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.

Council of the City of Temple City at a regular meeting held on the 5th day of October, 1999, by the
following vote:
AYES: Councilman- Gillanders, Souder, Wilson, Breazeal, Brook
NOES: Councilman -None
ABSENT: Councilman -None
