A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD AWARDING
A CONTRACT TO SIALIC CONTRACTORS CORPORATION dba SHAWNAN AS
THE APPARENT LOWEST RESPONSIBLE BIDDER, IN THE AMOUNT OF $380,470
(SUM TOTAL OF UNIT PRICE BID SCHEDULES "A", "B" 8~ "C") FOR THE LAVINIA
AVENUE, HARRIS AVENUE 8~ OLANDA STREET IMPROVEMENT PROJECT,
PROJECT NUMBERS 4011.67.955, 4011.67.956 & 4011.67.965 AND AUTHORIZING
THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the Lavinia Avenue, Harris Avenue and Olanda Street Improvement
Project is scheduled for completion during fiscal year (FY) 2009-2010; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Lynwood adopted the plans,
specifications and working details for the Lavinia Avenue, Harris Avenue and Olanda
Street. Improvement Project on August 4, 2009, and Public Works staff advertised the
project on August 13, 2009 and on August 20, 2009; and

WHEREAS, sixteen contractors received project-plans and contract documents;

WHEREAS, the bid opening took place in'the Office of the City Clerk on
September 3, 2009, and eleven contractors submitted bids; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works /City Engineer has ascertained that
Sialic Contractors Corporation dba SHAWNAN was the lowest responsible bidder at
$380,470 for the total of Unit Price Bid Schedules "A", "B" and "C"; and
WHEREAS; at ~rgfe ence:~check•;'has~ revealed that thins contractor, Sialic
Contractors Corporation dba SHAWNAN, has the necessary experience and
contractor's license for this type of project; and
WHEREAS, the project budget is adequate to pay for the Lavinia Avenue, Harris
Avenue and Olanda Street Improvement Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the contract for the Lavinia Avenue, Harris Avenue and
Olanda Street Improvement Project, Project No's. 4011.67.955, 4011.67.956 and
4011.67.965, be awarded to Sialic Contractors Corporation dba SHAWNAN for the
lowest bid of $380,470 for the total of Unit Price Bid Schedules "A". "B" and "C".
Section 2. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute the agreement
between the City Council of the City of Lynwood and Sialic Contractors Corporation dba
SHAWNAN, approved as to form by the City Attorney.
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 6th day of October, 2009.
