RESOLUTION NO. 99 -3795
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY GRANTING AUTHORITY TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE STREETS
AND REMOVE VEHICLES FROM RESTRICTED STREETS FOR
CELEBRATIONS, PARADES, LOCAL SPECIAL EVENTS OR OTHER
PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, Division 11, Chapter 1, Article 3, Section 21101(e), of the California Vehicle Code
authorizes local authorities to temporarily close a portion of a street for celebrations, parades, local special
events, and other purposes; and
WHEREAS, Division 11, Chapter 1, Article 3, Section 21103 of the California Vehicle Code
requires posting signs at all entrances to the street or part thereof affected; and
WHEREAS, Division 11, Chapter 10, Article 1, Section 22651, Subsection (m) authorizes local
authority to remove any vehicle parked in violation of posted signs; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Temple City desires to close portions of streets for
the purpose of safely celebrating special events held within the City, and
WHEREAS, the City Council authorizes the City to hold special events for its Citizens; and
WHEREAS, the City of Temple City annually celebrates The Camellia Festival, The Craft Fair,
Lights On Temple City Parade, and a 5K Run.
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Temple City does hereby resolve as follows:
SECTION 1. The City Manager or his designee may close portions of streets for the purpose of
holding local celebrations.
SECTION 2. Annually the City holds the following Celebrations:
The Camellia Festival
Lights On Temple City Parade
Craft Fair
5K Run
SECTION 3. Entrances to all streets deemed necessary for closure shall be posted:
"This Street to be Closed
From (Date, Time) To: (Date, Time)
Pursuant to Resolution 99 -3795"
SECTION 4. Signs shall be posted along all parking areas of the street(s) to be closed at least
24 hours prior to closure.
SECTION 5. The signs shall prohibit vehicles from parking on that portion of any street that has
been posted and shall state: "Temporary No Parking - Tow Away Zone" and shall specify the date(s) and
times of street closure.
SECTION 6. The City Manager or his designee shall authorize removal of any vehicle in violation

of posted signs.
SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
