Hold annual Children's Christmas Party-Open to the Public. Hold annual Easter Egg Hunt-59 year-Open to the Public. NOVEMBER 30, 2010 Provide monetary support to Fresh Air Home. Recognize Policeman/Policewoman of the Year with dinner a plaque. Purchase and replace American Flag at Police Headquarters as needed. Take fruit to the residents of the Nursing Home on a monthly basis. Buy Christmas presents for residents of the Nursing Horne. Purchase and replace the American Flag at the Nursing Home as needed. Hold the Flag retirement at the Nursing Home and burn anyone's old/worn out Flag. Blaming old Flags is the proper way to dispose of old/worn out retired Flags, Provide and deliver food to shut-ins, when notified. Display American Flags on Butler Avenue utility pole on various holidays. Donate (Regular Rental Rate is $500 for non-members and $250 for members) the Legion Hall for charity and conununity events; including, but not a complete list, After Funeral Meals, Auctions, Weekly Line Dancing, Breeze Awards, Surfing Awards, Dart Tournaments, U. S. Census Meetings, Tybee Fest Meetings, Election Night Party and other such events. In addition to the Hall, the heating/air conditioning, water, sewer and electric are part of the Legion's donations to the community. The approximate annual value all of these donations to the residents of Tybee Island is in excess of $20,000.00. 2 Work with any veterans, members or non members, who require help with receiving their benefits. Have drivers available to take veterans to medical and other appointments. Give Blur Star Banners to the families of military service members. Collect and distribute books and magazines to military service personnel and others. In addition, all of the effort provided by our members is done on a volunteer basis.
