HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 00-38011 1 1 RESOLUTION NO. 00 -3801 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY, CALIFORNIA, ESTABLISHING HOLIDAYS FOR FISCAL YEAR 2000 -2001. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The holidays established for the City of Temple City for fiscal year 2000 -2001 are as follows: Independence Day (Tuesday, July 4, 2000) Labor Day (Monday, September 4, 2000) Thanksgiving Day (Thursday, November 23, 2000) Day after Thanksgiving (Friday, November 24, 2000) Christmas Day (Monday, December 25, 2000) New Years Day (Monday, January 1, 2001) Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (Monday, January 15, 2001) Presidents' Day (Observed, Monday, February 19, 2001) Memorial Day (Observed Monday, May 28, 2001), and two floating holidays to be used as each employee chooses. SECTION 2. While the City is on an open 9/80 work schedule, all permanent full-time employees will be allotted the same number of holiday leave hours, i.e. holidays that fall on a Friday will be allotted as eight -hour holidays, those falling on Monday through Thursday will allotted as nine -hour holidays. SECTION 3. If a holiday observed by the City of Temple City falls on an employee's normal Friday off, that employee will be allotted an eight (8) hour floating holiday which may be taken only during or after the pay period of that holiday in the 2000 -2001 fiscal year. SECTION 4. Employees that normally work an eight -hour day will be credited with one extra hour of vacation leave for any holiday that falls on Monday through Thursday and would be a nine -hour holiday for other employees. SECTION 5. Permanent full-time employees that are entitled to holiday leave but work an alternative schedule (i.e. not one of the 9/80 open or Monday through Friday work schedules) that doesn't allow them to use their allotted holiday leave on the designated holiday will be required to take another day off in that pay period with the approval of their supervisor. SECTION 6. All floating holiday's are to be taken by each employee as they choose, in compliance with the City's Personnel Rules and Regulations pertaining to use of vacation. Such holidays may not be used or carried over into the next fiscal year which starts July 1, 2001. SECTION 7. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
