Meeting opened by Michael Whalen at 7:05pm.
In attendance: Colleen Charleston, Michael Whalen, Nancy Drawe, Judi Regan,
Eric Rogers
Absent:, Sarah Whalen and Jim Mirabile
March 5, 2013, meeting minutes were reviewed. A motion was made to accept the
minutes, seconded and passed
Veteran’s Day Dinner
Upcoming Taps
Taps is going well. Sarah Whalen ran the March one. They will remain at the Senior
Center through April.
Memorial Day
Michael will do or has done the following:
Put up sandwich board at common
Speak with Chris about advertising on town website and patch-will put info on our
website, including an invite to all the town’s veterans and pictures, will also make a
commercial
Spoke with Julie Younis about being Master of Ceremonies and she has agreed
Request printing help from Action Copy for programs.
Has the wreaths (in good shape) and chairs for the common.
Has boxes of Collation supplies.
Will talk with Ray Gendreau about learning to set up amplifier and set up
Will contact clergy
Will get in touch with Ray Gendreau about the bag piper
Jim will do the following:
Contact Hanscom Air Base about guest speaker
Invite State and federal politicians
Contact school band
Speak with Brianna about being Master of Ceremonies understudy
Request color guard from scouts
Judi will do or has done the following:
Refreshments for Collation
Check funds
Get mini flags to give out
Nancy will do or has done the following:
Contact Women’s Club about manning collation and getting cookies
Will field calls from convertible drivers
Eric will door has done the following:
Bring his trucks to parade
Make posters
Colleen will or has done the following:
Has invited Hopkinton representatives: Selectmen (invite Ben Paleiko to speak), town
manager and Veteran’s agents
Has requested parade permit
Has requested parks and Rec permission for use of common and sign permit
Has reserved St John hall for Collation and use if bad weather.
Will send invite to Jack Weglage

Everyone will help hang posters
If auxiliary Police cannot do the gun salute, motor cycle group will be considered.
Will not seek convertible drivers but if some volunteer will use.
Dependent on funds will use bagpiper.
Next meeting is Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at 7pm.
