RESOLUTION NO. 00 -3816
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT AND
EXECUTE USED OIL RECYCLING GRANT APPLICATIONS TO THE
CALIFORNIA INTEGRATED WASTE MANAGEMENT BOARD
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the California Oil Recycling
Enhancement Act that provides fund to cities and counties for establishing and maintaining local used oil
collection programs that encourage recycling or appropriate disposal of used oil; and
WHEREAS, the California Integrated Waste Management Board has been delegated the
responsibility for the administration of the program within the State, setting up necessary procedures
governing application by cities and counties under the program; and
WHEREAS, the applicant will enter into an agreement with the State of California for the
implementation of a used oil collection program;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Temple City:
1. Authorizes the submittal of grant applications to the California Integrated Waste Management
Board for all available grants under the California Oil Recycling Enhancement Act for the period
of three years from July 1, 2000 to June 30, 2003.
2. The City Manager, or designee, is hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of
the City of Temple City all necessary applications, contracts, payment requests, agreements, and
amendments hereto for the purposes of securing grant funds and to implement and carry out the
purposes specified in the grant application.
3. The City of Temple City authorizes the participation in a cooperative project with Los Angeles
County acting in the lead capacity, AND further authorizes 10% of the total 2000/2003 Used Oil
Recycling Block Grant (Sixth Cycle) funds for which the City of Temple City is eligible, be
appropriated to Los Angeles County to implement said project.
Los Angeles County is hereby authorized and empowered to execute all necessary applications,
contracts, payment requests, agreements and amendments hereto for the purposes of securing the
above - mentioned grant funds and to implement and carry out the cooperative project.
SECTION 1. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution.

21st day of March 2000 by the following vote:
