Leesburg, VA (October 31, 2018) – In collaboration with the Town of Leesburg’s Economic Development Office, the Mason Enterprise Center in Leesburg will hold its next Contractor Chat session on Monday, November 5, 2018, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at 202 Church Street SE in downtown Leesburg. This no-cost event is open to all, but particularly of value to small government contractors. Lunch will be provided, sponsored by Streamline Government Contracts (www.streamlinegovcon.com). This month’s event will feature Rich Vinnacombe, Deputy Director of the U.S. State Department’s Small Business Office, and Anna Urman, Senior Procurement Analyst with the U.S. State Department. In FY 2018, the U.S. State Department met and exceeded all its small business and socioeconomic contracting goals. Come find out how your company might be one of those companies helping the State Department meet its goals in coming years. Our presenters will share key information about how small contractors can position themselves to win work with the department. Attendees should come prepared with questions, since this will be an interactive session. The Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) ensures that all legislatively specified categories of small businesses in prime contracts and subcontracts are effectively utilized to the maximum extent possible. This team champions U.S. small business interests in the department's acquisition process and provides training and counseling about doing business with the State Department in order to expand the base of small business firms selling to the department. After the session, Mr. Vinnacombe and Ms. Urman will have match-making appointments with interested companies.
