The Community Preservation Committee of the City known as the Town of Watertown will hold a
PUBLIC HEARING on Thursday May 20, 2021 at 7:00 PM with only remote access.
The Watertown Community Preservation Plan will be considered for adoption, as required by MGL
Chapter 44B, Community Preservation Act (CPA). This state law allows cities and towns to raise
funds through a surcharge on local real estate taxes. The residents of Watertown voted to adopt the
CPA on November 8, 2016. The Community Preservation Plan outlines the needs, resources, and
possibilities of Watertown as well as the application process for the consideration of funding open
space and outdoor recreation, community housing, and historic preservation projects. The plan is
required to be adopted prior to funding projects.
The plan is available for review at https://www.watertown-ma.gov/CPC
