~"~" A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY. COUNCIL OF THE. CITY OF LYNWOOD REJECTING
ALL BIDS FOR THE ATLANTIC AVENUE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT,. PROJECT
NO. 4011.67.874, FEDERAL PROJECT NO. 07-LA-0-LYN-ESPL 5250 {013) AND
AUTHORIZING STAFF TO RE-ADVERTISE THE PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Atlantic Avenue Improvement Project is scheduled for
completion during fiscal year (FY) 2009-2010 and funded with the Federal American
Recovery and Reinvestment Act and Prop C .funds; and
WHEREAS, the _ City ~ Council of the City of Lynwood adopted the plans,
specifications and working details for said project on August 18, 2009, and Public Works
staff advertised the project on August 21, 2009; August 27, 2009 and on September 3,
2009; and
WHEREAS, eighteen contractors received project plans and contract documents;
and
WHEREAS, the bid opening took place in the Office of the City Clerk on
September 24, 2009, and nine contractors submitted bids; and
WHEREAS, a misprint in the Contract Documents has caused 'several
contractors who submitted bids to erroneously calculate a certain bid item price,
whereby causing great disparities in the total bid amount amongst the ~uarious
contractors.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY FIND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood rejects all bids received
for the Atlantic Avenue Improvement Project, Project No. 4011.67.874, Federal Project
No. 07-LA-0-LYN-ESPL 5250 (013) and authorizes Staff to re-advertise the project.
Section 2. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution. ~
