Council Member-Elect Steinberg Seeking Town Board and
Commission Candidates
Leesburg, VA (November 21, 2018) – In January 2019, Council Member-elect Neil Steinberg will
nominate candidates to serve on the Town’s boards and commissions. Selected nominees will
be appointed by the full council and will serve four-year terms ending on December 31, 2022.
Steinberg is seeking residents who are interested in serving on the following bodies. Potential
candidates should send Steinberg letters of interest and resumes to
nsteinberg@leesburgva.gov by December 7, 2018.
Board of Architectural Review (BAR). The BAR is an adjudicatory board that reviews
and approves Certificates of Appropriatenss for alterations to existing buildings and
new construction in the Old & Historic District. Background in architecture, real estate,
historic preservation, building conservation, or construction required.
Environmental Advisory Commission. Advises the Council on policies and programs
that promote and protect the environmental interests of the Town .
Standing Residential Traffic Committee. Resolves residential traffic complaints, advises
the Council on traffic-related issues, and evaluates specific traffic calming projects.
Tree Commission. Advises the Council on policies and programs that enhance, expand
and preserve the tree canopy in the Town of Leesburg for the benefit of the
community.
