A WARDING CONTRACT FOR THE 2005 ROAD IlYIPR VEMENT PROGRAM

WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret ("Borough") authori ed the preparation of bid
specifications and contract documents and advertisement for rece pt of bids for the 2005 Road
Improvement Program; and
.
WHEREAS, the Borough has previously received bids for said p ject on September 21, 2005;
and
WHEREAS, Star of the Sea Concrete Corporation, Old Bridge New Jersey submitted the
lowest bid for said work as evidence by the response 011 file w th the Borough's Purchasing
Department and Borough's Consulting Engineer for the Project as ~ ]]ows:

WHEREAS, the Borough's Consulting Engmeer, T & M Associ tes, has reviewed the above
referenced bid proposal(s) and has recommended an award of a con act for the Base Bid; and
WHEREAS, the Borough's Chief Financial Officer has certifie that funds are or wi]] be
avai1able for the award of a contract for said work.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of
Carteret, County of Middlesex and State of New Jersey as follows:
1. That the Borough hereby awards the bid for the 2005 Ro d Improvement
" Program to Star of the Sea Concrete Corporation, Old Bri"ge, NJ, in the
amount of $367, 175.00 for the Base Bid.
2. That the appropriate Borough Officials are hereby autho ized and directed to enter
into a contract with Star of the Sea Concrete Corporatio for the 2005 Road
Improvement Program in the amount of $367, 175.00 an in accordance in all
respects with the request for proposals and bid on the sa e.
3. That a copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the orough's Purchasing
Department and T & M Associates for distribution to Sta of the Sea Concrete
Corporation.
