Resolutions
Paintings will be on display at the Leesburg Town Hall from November 29, 2018 to
February 28, 2019.
Leesburg, VA (November 26, 2018) – The Leesburg Commission on Public Art is pleased to
announce a new art exhibit that will be on display on the first floor of Town Hall beginning
November 29. The exhibit will feature selected paintings of U.S. Navy and CIA Combat Artist Dr.
Chip Beck (CDR, USNR Ret).
From 1969 through 2013 Beck depicted more than 20 wars, revolutions, and clandestine
conflicts in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America during his primary careers as a
“soldier, sailor, artist, and spy.” In the past year, he served as artist-in-residence at Gettysburg
Battlefield and Chaco Canyon National Parks for the National Parks Art Foundation.
Friends of Leesburg Public Arts (FOLPA) will host a reception to meet the artist on December 7.
The event will take place at Town Hall (25 W Market Street) from 6 to 8 p.m. The exhibit will
run through February 28, 2019.
