RESOLUTION NO. 00 -3976
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF TEMPLE CITY APPROVING FRIDAY,
DECEMBER 22, 2000, AS A DESIGNATED HOLIDAY
FOR CITY EMPLOYEES
WHEREAS, the City of Temple City hac, the authority to approve holidays for
city employees; and
WHEREAS, there are unique circumstances this year with Christmas falling
on a Monday and only half of the city's employees normally working on the last
workday before Christmas, Friday December 22, due to the city's 9/80 open work
schedule; and
WHEREAS, this unique circumstance requires the employee recognition
Christmas luncheon to be' held on Thursday, December 21, 2000, which is the last
workday before Christmas that all city employees would normally be at work; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to approve Friday, December 22, 2000, as
a holiday for city employees so half of the city's employees normally working on that
Friday would not have to return to work before Christmas; and
WHEREAS, the other half of city employees not normally working on
December 22, would receive an additional 8 -hour floating holiday to be used in
compliance with the city's Rules and Regulations regarding the use of floating
holidays;
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Temple City does resolve
to approve Friday, December 22, 2000, as a designated holiday for city employees on a
one -time, non - precedent setting basis.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED on this 19th day of December 2000.

I, City Clerk of the City of Temple City, hereby certify that the foregoing
resolution, Resolution No. 00 -3976, was adopted by the City Council of the City of
Temple City at a regular meeting held on the 19th day of December 2000, by the
following vote:
AYES: Councilman- Brook, Wilson, Souder
NOES: Councilman - Breazeal, Gillandors
ABSENT: Councilman -None
