RESOLUTION NO. 01 -3983
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 00 -3962 TO REVISE
POLLING PLACE HOURS FOR THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
TO BE HELD ON TUESDAY, MARCH 6, 2001
WHEREAS, on October 25, 2000, the City Council adopted Resolution No. 00 -3962 calling and
giving notice of the holding of a General Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, March 6, 2001, for the
election of certain officers as required by the provisions of the Charter of the City of Temple City and for the
submission to the voters a question relating to the elimination of term limits for Councilmembers;
WHEREAS, Section 6 of Resolution No. 00 -3962 states that polls for the election shall be open at
seven o'clock a.m. of the day of the election and shall remain open continuously from that time until seven
o'clock p.m. of the same day when the polls shall be closed;
WHEREAS, on January 2, 2001, the City Council approved a request from the County of Los
Angeles to hold a concurrent election by joining the City's General Municipal Election for City
Councilmembers with a Special Election for Member of the State Senate; and to extend the City's polling
place hours until 8:00 p.m.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY, CALIFORNIA, DOES
RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the polls for the City of Temple City General Municipal Election shall be open at
7:00 o'clock a.m. of the day of the election and shall remain open continuously from that time until 8:00
o'clock p.m. of the same day when the polls shall be closed.
SECTION 2. That all other provisions of Resolution No. 00 -3962 shall remain as adopted.
SECTION 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution and enter
it into the book of original Resolutions.
