Report of Bids Received
CME File: H-CA-00200-01
Dear Mayor Reiman and Council Members:
Enclosed herewith please find a summary of bids receive on September 12, 2006, for
the above referenced project. Five (5) bids were received anging from a low base bid of
$1,664,617.55 from Northstar Enterprises, Inc., to a high se bid of $2,550,707.00 from
Berto Construction, Inc.
It is our understanding that there is adequate funding avail ble to award a contract in the
amount of the base bid and Addition Items ADD-1 throu h ADD-6. Applying these six
(6) items does not change the order of the bids: Northsta Enterprises would remain the
low bidder with a total bid amount for the base bid and Addition Items 1 through 6 of
$2,253,927.55
Three of the bids had minor irregularities, including that 0 the low bidder, in that the bid
packages were not submitted intact and one bid containe a math error.
As a matter of procedure, our office has contacted the ap
