RESOLUTION NO. 01 -3990
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY AUTHORIZING MEMBERS OF THE RESIDENT SAFETY
VOLUNTEER PROGRAM (RSVP) TO DIRECT TRAFFIC
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE:
WHEREAS, pursuant to provisions of Vehicle Code Section 21100(e), the City Council, by
resolution, may authorize any person to regulate traffic under such circumstances as may require traffic
direction for orderly traffic flow; and
WHEREAS, the City of Temple City utilizes civilian volunteers to conduct vacation checks and patrol
checks and to generally assist the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, and said volunteers perform
these duties in uniform; and
WHEREAS, said volunteers supplement sworn deputies performing enforcement duties.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Temple City does hereby resolve, declare,
determine, and order as follows:
SECTION 1. That the City Council hereby authorizes Temple City Resident Safety Volunteers, when
in uniform and directed to do so by the City Manager, his /her designate or the Sheriff's Department, and after
completion of a training curriculum approved by the Sheriff of the County of Los Angeles, to direct traffic
within the City of Temple City whenever official traffic control devices are disabled and otherwise inoperable,
at the scene of accidents or disasters, and at other locations, requiring traffic direction for orderly traffic flow.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED, AND ADOPTED on this 20th day of February 2001.

February 2001 by the following vote:
