APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE RECEIPT AND EXPENDITURE OF FUNDS AS PART OF A GOLF SCRAMBLE TO BENEFIT THE WIDOWED PERSONS SERVICE AND RETIRED SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for senior citizens to perform volunteer work throughout the City of Richmond; and
WHEREAS, the Widowed Persons Service (WPS) provides activities for senior citizens within the Richmond area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Richmond, Indiana has the option of excepting or rejecting donations for a specific purpose; and
WHEREAS, the acceptance of a donation for a specific purpose constitutes the appropriation of such property for the intended purpose; and
WHEREAS, RSVP and WPS intend to sponsor a golf scramble on or about September 6, 2000 in order to raise monies for said programs.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana, that any donations, sponsorships or registration fees received in conjunction with said golf scramble
shall be accepted, gratefully acknowledged by the citizens of Richmond, and be used to assist in the operating expenses for the WPS and RSVP.
Passed and adopted this 17th day of July, 2000, by the Common Council for the City of Richmond, Indiana.
