Prior to becoming Mayor, Bill served on the City Council for 7 years. Mayor Storer was respected by the members of the community because of his great love for Iona and his dedication to the people who call Iona home. He graduated from Iona High School in 1943. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1944 to 1945. Bi11 married Genevieve Sayer on November 23, 1943 and together they raised 6 children. Bill passed away on December 21, 2000. What a community this would be if everyone followed Mayor Storer's example of public service.
