We have to get ourselves up to speed and have the information on hand should anything happen to you while you are here at the Senior Center or should you take ill. We would have instructions on how to care for you or contact your relatives or caregiver. That information is needed to have on file at the Senior Center. We are going to hold off on our code of conduct. We are still researching and working on that. We will go into the staff report.. Pearline Calderon - I am informing the Senior Advisory Council that I will be forming a friendship hospitality club. Lam in the process of putting everything together at the moment so I don't have any more information. I hope we have everything together by the next meeting. . Board Orals: Member Lorene Reed - On behalf of the bingo club I would like to thank them for the presentation that was made to me over the holidays. Thank you. for the wonderful and beautiful gift you gave me. We are steadily growing. I would like to wish everyone a Happy New Year. Chair Paulette Bradley - We have been going through some of the catalogs of the educational institutions that have reached out to the community in the senior area. There are a number of interesting classes that other communities are providing. We want to have more visits to museums. This activity is free on the weekends. We want to add this to our list of activities for this year. The suggestion box does work. We gave a report in October or November. We are doing a lot of research to improve the senior center. We are looking for ways to expedite things. We are aware of improvements that need to be made. We need. to be self-sufficient. The City is not going to funnel any money to us. They made two big budget cuts last year. We have a new group "The Friends of the Lynwood Senior Center". We need your ideas and we need to step up to the plate to help us make this a reality. I'm going to give you an idea that a number of organizations use as fundraisers: there are book sales, bake sales, arts & crafts sales. The Health Fair will be a fundraiser, trips to studios, casino trips. These are the things we need to focus on. You can have fun and raise money: We used to go to movies on Fridays and we are discussing on bringing that activity back. . Member Barbara Battle - I would like to wish everyone a healthy and prosperous. New Year and I am looking forward to the new things we will be doing during this New Year and hope that everyone will get involved. Jose Trejo - I just wish everybody a good year. I will let Marisa make an announcement at the next meeting of plans for the Senior Division. You will get an idea of what we want to get done this year. Last year we got the umbrellas, completed the exercise room and vending machines. I do not want to make any commitments, but we will certainly do something to make things happen. Adjournment: Member Barbara Battle made a motion to adjourn, 2"d by Member Lorene Reed. By unanimous consent the meeting adjourned at 12:37 p.m. 2
