HomeMy Public PortalAbout07 - 2022-7 - FIXING SALARIES FOR EMPLOYEES 10/11/2022 ORDINANCE 2022-7 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE SIZE OF THE DEPARTMENTS OF CITY GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF GREENCASTLE,INDIANA,FIXING SALARIES FOR THE EMPLOYEES OF SUCH DEPARTMENTS AND FIXING THE SALARIES OF CERTAIN OTHER APPOINTED OFFICIALS FOR THE YEAR 2023 SECTION ONE: That the City of Greencastle shall pay all eligible employees 26 bi-weekly pays effective with pay date beginning January 6.2023 at the rates listed in SECTION TWO through SECTION NINE below. In addition,all eligible full-time members of the departments of the City of Greencastle shall be paid longevity pay,calculated at a percentage of their base pay,beginning on the first day of the anniversary month of employment as follows: Months of Completed Employment Percentage of Pay Date of hire through 35 months(2 years,11 months) 0% 36 months through 71 months(5 years,11 months) 1% 72 months through 131 months(10 years,11 months) 2% 132 months through 167 months(13 years,11 months) 3% 168 months or more 4% Full-time members shall be compensated for authorized overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standard Act,29 U.S.C.A.207. That the City of Greencastle shall contribute a total of$936 to each employee's HSA account on a semi-annual basis if they are enrolled in the City's Health Insurance Benefit. City Bonuses: An amount of up to one thousand dollars($1,000.00)may be paid to all full-time employees as a bonus. The ability to pay will be determined by the Greencastle Common Council and the Mayor. If the bonus is granted,it will be paid when the Mayor authorizes. To be eligible for the bonus,any newly hired full-time employees must have worked for the city at least ninety(90)days and the bonus will be prorated by months worked. Part-time employee bonuses will be 25%of the amount of full-time employee bonus. Any newly hired part-time employees must have worked for the city at least ninety(90)days and the bonus will be prorated by months worked. An additional bonus of$25.00 per years of service will be given to each full-time employee if you have worked for the city at least five years. Part-time employees will receive$10.00 per year of service if they have worked for the city at least five years.
