AUTHORIZING A PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CON RACT WITH
DE MURO ASSOCIATES FOR THE UPDATED SURV Y & MINOR
SUBDIVISION PLAN FOR THE CARTERET HIGH SC OOL TRACT
WHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret is in need of professi nal engineering and
surveying services for the preparation of an updated survey in a cordance with Green
Acres standards for the Carteret High School tract, Block 184, Lot 1, and a Mino~
Subdivision Plan for the same;
WHEREAS, De Muro Associates, 24 West Cliff S1., P.O. Box 150, Somerville, NJ
08876, has submitted a proposal to provide said engineering and s Jrveying services at a
total cost not to exceed $5,000.00; and
\VHEREAS, the Borough Engineer has reviewed said proposal ld recommended the
award of the same by the Mayor and Council; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer has certified that funds a e or will be available
for said purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and C unci I of the Borough
of Cartcret, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, as follows:
1. The proposal trom DeMuro Associates, for t e preparation of an
updated survey in accordance with Green Acres stan ards for the Cartcrct
High School tract, Block 184, Lot I, and a Minor Su division Plan for the
same, in an amount not to exceed $5,000.00, is hereb approved.
2. Annexcd hcrcto is a copy of said proposal.
3. This award is made as a professional service ontrac!. Pursuant to
N"TSA 40A:11-5(1)(a).

Dear Rich:
In reference to our recent telephone conversation, we p Opose to perform an updated
survey of the Carteret High SchoOl tract. We previousl performed an outbound and
topographic survey of the tract in December 2000. We sill u ilize that prior mapping for this
new work.
We understand that the updated survey wiU be utilized t effect a minor subdivision to
separate the High School football field frorn the buildings. he updated survey must meet
Green Acres standards. The tract contains 8.5 acres,
Our proposal as follows:
1. Transfer NJ State Plane Coordinates to the site.
2. Locate the newly constructed bUilding additions, pa ing lots, signs, athletic field
improvements, fences, drains, etc.
3. Take spot elevations of the new feature locations.
4. Prepare an updated survey of the tract. A copy of the ·tle Report Îs needed to verify
easements, restrictions, right~of-ways. etc.
5. USÎng the Green Acres drawing standards, update the $ rvey to those map details.

6. Using the Borough minor subdivision checklist, pI' pare a minor subdivision plan to
separate the football field area from the school uifdìngs. We will rely upon your
mark-up for the exact Umit of the minor subdivision.
7. Prepare Legal Descriptions of the two new Lots.
8. Set iron pins or concrete monuments at new a d existing property corners, as
needed.
9. Provide Mylar and blueprint copies, as needed.
10. Fee Schedule:
A. Updated IOèation and topographic survey, Green cres standards,

For work beyond the scope of this proposal, we shall char e at our prevailing hourly rates
attached.
Any costs for express mail, reproductions, blueprints or ph os will be added to our invoice
as an additional expense.
The standard of care for professÎonal services perto ed or furnished by DeMuro
Associates (Consultant) under this Agreement will be the skil and care used by members of
Consultant's profession practicing under similar circumstan s at the same time and in the
same locality. Consultant makes no warranties, express or i plied, under this Agreement or
otherwise, in connection with Consultant's services.

Payment is due upon presentation of invoice. Client grees to pay a finance charge of
one and one-half percent (1-112%) per month, or the maxi um rate allowed by faw, on past
due accounts. In the event that the invoice is not paid vol ntarity and promptly, and must be
referred to an attorney or agency for collection, Client agr es to pay a collection fee equal to
25 percent of the total amount due at that time. We rese e the right to withhold documents
or suspend our work for payments not received. DeMuro A sodates reserves the right not to
deliver to the Client final maps until all the outstanding inv ices have been paid in full.
Revisions ,- In the event revisions are needed, they will b billed separate!y.
