concerned about the well's impact on ithe Baseball program.
• Mr. Putnam = Thin is an additional well. The area selected will not interfere
with the Baseball program grid will cause minimal impact to Lynwood City
Park.
• Commissioner Harper -Was research done on this site location?
• Mr. Putnam -.Six sites throughout the City were studied. This site will produce
good quality water. j

• Vice Chairperson Gutierrez -Why can't we get water from the wells we
already have available?
• Mr. Putnam - He explained that the City currently buys water to supplement
the City's ground water source. The .price of water from imported sources will
double in the next few years. The Ciity drilled for water several years ago but
the water quality was poor and didn't meet the needs of the City.
• Vice Chairperson Gutierrez -Does this mean. more wells will be dug in the
future?
• Mr. Putnam. -~ Yes.1 Currently plans include this proposed well and one other

Scheduled Matters:
A. Holiday Event's -
• Community Services Day - Th¢ Natatorium will distribute food and toys
to approximately 200 less fortuunate Lynwood families on 12/17 on the
Natatorium patio.. Money and donations for this event are slowly
comings in.
• Winter Wonderland -This annual event will take place on the front lawn
at Lynwood City Hall from. 12/17 through 12/20 nightly. Times vary by
activity. Activities include singing, dancing, photos with Santa and gifts
for children.
• Fundraising Efforts -The Lynv~ood Bingo Club will host a holiday raffle.
Tickets are $1. There are firsfi, second and third prizes including a 37-
inch HDTV, $150 in cash, and a $50 Target gift card.

Commissioner Hernandez asked about the slides at the toddlers' playground
in Lynwood City Park. Mr. Flores stated that he would have an update at a
future meeting. Commissioner Hernandez also wanted to know why we

equipment. Mr. Flores stated that ~it is more expensive than the pour in
place material that is currently in use m our City parks.
• Commissioner Salazar -Asked if th~ Soccer statue near the Natatorium was
stolen. Mr. Flores responded that it i~s being repaired. A metal railing will be
installed and thorny rose bushes will be planted to discourage further
vandalism. Commissioner Salazar asks if there are gang members in
Lynwood City Park. Mr. Flores stat d that there is some gang activity in the
park. Anew security company will be on board beginning 12/1/09.
• Commissioner Harper -She stated s e is back on the Commission. It would
have been nice if someone had call d to check on her during her absence
when she was sick. Chairperson Wo ~ d asked if her family tried contacting the
City to let staff know she was ill. Mr. Flores welcomed Commissioner Harper
back to the Commission. Mr. Flores -- Commented that the gym will be closed
from 11/16 through 11/30 for annual fill repairs.
