While on at the Town Meeting this past Friday, I noticed what I believe are numerous violations of the ADA, which violations include, inter alia, the following: 1. The entrance ramp to the back of the building is much too steep. 2. The handicapped parking space is ill placed and I do not believe that the path from the existing parking space to the ramp going into the rear door is of adequate size and slope. 3. I also do not believe that the rear door is not in compliance. There are numerous other areas of the site and building which I believe are not in compliance with, inter alia, the ADA and which should be remediated. In addition to the above, the Police Department's handicapped space is woefully in violation and seems easy to correct. As far as the inside of the Police Station, from my last visit, I believe that work needs to be done to that property. Mr. Thrasher, I want to work with the Town of Gulf Stream and assist them in making their properties "barrier free", but I need your cooperation. In that connection, I suggest that the following occur: 1. That we have an expert (which I will pay for) look at the Town properties to determine which properties are not in compliance and why they are not in compliance. 2. We work together to create a reasonable schedule for the sequence of the work. 3. We work together to create a reasonable schedule to implement the work.
