A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF CITY OF LYNWOOD AUTHORIZING
AN INCREASE APPROPRIATION FOR THE TREE MAINTENANCE ACCOUNT FOR
FY 2009-1D BY $185,000 AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR DESIGNEE
THE FLEXIBILITY TO APPROPRIATE AND TRANSFER FUNDS TO THE TREE
MAINTENANCE ACCOUNT, ACCOUNT NUMBER 2701.55.620
WHEREAS, the contractor for the Tree Pruning. and Maintenance .commenced
work on August 17, 2009; and
WHEREAS, staff and the contractor's Arborist have found numerous diseased
trees that required immediate removal to minimize tree claims against the.City; and
WHEREAS, staff estimates an additional 170 trees may need removal from the
remaining three areas of the City at an estimated cost of $160,000; and
WHEREAS, $25,000 are requested to plant new trees to replace trees that were
.removed.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY ~F1ND, PROCLAIM, ORDER, AND RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council authorizes the increased appropriation for the
Tree:Maintenance Account 2710.55.620 for FY 2009-10 by $1.85,000 total.
Section 2. That the City Council authorizes the City Manger or designee the
flexibility to identify available funds within the internal budget and authorizes the City
Manager or designee to .make the necessary fund appropriations and transfers to the
Tree Maintenance Account, account number 2701.55.620
Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption.
Section 4. The City Clerk shall certify as to the adoption of this City Council
Resolution.
