HomeMy Public PortalAboutResolution 02-40671 1 RESOLUTION NO. 02 -4067 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY APPROVING, IN CONCEPT, THE OAK AVENUE INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL LIGHTING PROJECT AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO COMMENCE NEGOTIATIONS ON A CONSTRUCTION AND JOINT USE AGREEMENT WHEREAS, the City Council desires to provide sufficient recreational areas for the enjoyment of the people of Temple City; and, WHEREAS, the limitation of open space within the City's corporate limits intensifies the need to maximize the use of all open areas in the City; and, WHEREAS, the Temple City Unified School District had voiced their support of a proposal to install lighting at Oak Avenue Intermediate School which would increase the amount of available open space for recreational use to the Citizens of Temple City; and, WHEREAS, the City Council has met, in joint meeting, with the Board of Education of the Temple City Unified School District and both bodies agree, in principal, to the benefits of this Project to both the citizens of Temple City and the students of the Temple City Unified School District. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE CITY DOES HEREBY RESOLVE: SECTION 1. The City Council does hereby approve, in concept, the Oak Avenue Intermediate School Lighting Project; and, SECTION 2. The City Manager is hereby directed to commence negotiations on a construction and joint use agreement for said Project. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED on this 6th day of March, 2002. Mayor ATTEST: I, City Clerk of the City of Temple City, do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution, Resolution No. 02 -4067, was adopted at a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Temple City held on the 6th day of March, 2002. It was duly passed, approved and adopted by said Council, approved and signed by the Mayor, and attested by the City Clerk at a special meeting held on the 6th day of March, 2002 by the following vote: AYES: Councilman - Souder, Zovak, Vizcarra, Gillanders NOES: Councilman -None ABSENT: Councilman - Wilson Tha-A/-1(-k_ 4b-v\zbu-d, City Clerk
