RESOLUTION OF THE BOROUGH OF C
AUTHORIZING EXCEL ENVIRONMENTAL RE
APPLY FOR GRANT FUNDING THROUGH THE AZARDOUS
DISCHARGE SITE REMEDIATION FU D
WHEREAS, the State of new Jersey Department of Enviro ental Protection
("NJDEP"), through the Hazardous Discharge Site Re ediation Fund
("HDSRF"), has grant funds ("Grant Funds") availabIe to muni ipaJities for the
purpose of funding preliminary assessments, site investig tions, remedial
investigations andlor remedial actions to determine the existe ce or extent of
hazardous substance discharge conditions on properties; and
\VHEREAS, the Borough of Carteret (the "Borough") des res to conduct
preJiminary assessments, site investigations, remcdial inves igations and/or
remedial actions with respect to the prope11y commonly know as Block 202,
Lots 9, 10 and II as identified on the Tax Map of the Borough he "Property");
and
WHEREAS, Excel Enviromnental Resources is qualified to pre are and submit
appJications on behalf of the Borough for Grant Funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the
Borough as foUows:
1. Excel Enviromnental Resources is hereby authori ed to apply for
Grant Funds in order to conduct preJiminary a sessments, site
investigations, remedial investigations andlor rem dial actions for
the Property.
2. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to exe ute any and aU
doclmlents necessary in order to apply for Grart Fu ds.
3. In the event that Grant Funds are approved purs ant to a grant
issued in favor of the Borough, Excel Enviromnen al Resources is
hereby authorized and directed to impleme t preliminary
assessments, site investigations, remedial invest' gatíons andlor
remedial actions for properties, with payment for aforesaid
services to be made to Excel Enviromnental Res rces from the
Grant Funds in accordance with the contract to be ntered into by
the Borough and the NJDEP.
