SUMMARY STATEMENT:
On October 26, 2017, a project update was presented at the City Council Regular Meeting. Based on the
City Council’s concurrence with the preliminary design plans, the project team moved into the final design
phase. With the final design now complete, the project team is ready to advertise the project for bidding.
This work session is being held to (1) provide an overview of the final project design, (2) discuss the final
cost estimate compared to the FY 2018 Approved Budget, and (3) discuss the potential for project cost
increases.
City Staff and the city’s engineering consultant, Horrocks Engineers, will provide a PowerPoint presentation
at the meeting, and time will be provided for questions, answers, and additional discussion. The presentation
will include an overall plan of the final design, typical cross sections of the proposed roadway and pathway
improvements, and a cost comparison summary of the overall project (FY 2018 budget vs. final cost
estimates).
With the concurrence of the City Council, staff will advertise the project and receive bids. City Staff plans
to present the bid results to the City Council at the regular meeting on May 10, 2018, and request approval
of the Notice of Award and Project Agreement at that time.
