SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Council adopted the McCall Water System Master Plan on December 29, 2017. The City received Idaho DEQ approval of the Plan on March 19, 2018. The purpose of this work session is to
discuss the need for water rate adjustments to ensure the water system continues to be a sustainable operation and can meet the capital investment needs identified in the Plan.
Based on Council’s input from this work session staff will return to Council on June 25th with a recommended rate structure. The proposed rate structure will be presented to the public
at a public workshop on July 19th. A public hearing on the rate structure will be held on August 9, 2018. At that time Council can vote to adopt the rate structure for inclusion in
the FY19 budget.
An Executive Summary Memo from the City’s water rate consultants, Bowen Collins, is attached for reference along with a copy of the presentation that will be provided on April 27th.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Review the options for water rate adjustments and give direction to staff to return to Council on June 25th with a rate structure recommendation.
