HomeMy Public PortalAbout2427-1969 - Amending Building Code - Adoption of Federal Housing Minimum Property Standards- ORDINANCE NO. 2427 - 1969 _ a AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE No. 1700-1958, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE BUILDING CODE OF THE CITY OF RICHMOND, INDIANA APPROVED DECEMBER 2, 1958. BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of Richmond, Indiana as follows: SECTION 1. WHEREAS, Paragraph 405, Exceptions, of Ordinance 1700-1958 commonly known as the Building Code of the City of Richmond, Indiana reads as follows: EXCEPTIONS (a) Any cases or types of construction not fully covered in this code may be ruled on by the Commissioner of Buildings with reference to the F.H.A. rules and regulations, if applicable. (b) In no case shall grade beam foundation be accepted for dwellings. WHEREAS, it is the intent and purpose hereof to amend said Paragraph 405, Exceptions, to allow for the adoption of construction standards which will assure well planned, safe and soundly constructed one and two family living units within the City of Rich- mond, Indiana. NOW THEREFORE: SECTION 2. It is hereby ordained that Paragraph 405, Exceptions, of the Richmond Building Code be and the same is hereby changed to read as follows: 405. ADOPTION OF FEDERAL HOUSING ADMINISTRATION MINIMUM PROPERTY STANDARD FOR ONE AND TWO LIVING UNITS. Except where the Federal Housing Administration Minimum Property Standards for one and two living units No. 300, dated November 1966,.including all General and Interim Revisions as of the ef- fective date of this ordinance is in conflict with this Chapter, such regulations are hereby adopted and approved for the construc- tion, alteration and repair of all one and two family living units in the City of Richmond, Indiana and are made a part of this chap- ter as fully as though every word, clause, phrase, sentence, ill- ustration, sections and parts thereof were setout herein.
