A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AGREEMENT FROM ELAVON AND
PAYPAL TO -PROVIDE CREDIT CARD PROCESSING SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF
LYNWOOD ~ .,
=WHEREAS, City of Lynwood currently accepts payments for utilities and services
by cash and checks only; and
WHEREAS, to give customers more options to pay for their utility bills and other
.services, staff has researched and selected a credit card processing company (Elavon
Corporation) to accept credit card .payments on for the City; and

WHEREAS, Elavon was unanimously selected by a committee4of~four~members
among five other companies due to their competitive pricing structure, ability to integrate
with the City's financial management software, and working relationship with the City's
bank; and
WHEREAS, Elavon is a .:major United States processor of credit card
transactions and a subsidiary of U.S. Bankcorp delivering merchant processing in more
than. 30 countries and support the payment needs of more than 1,000,000 merchant
ovations across the globe; and
WHEREAS, Staff feels that implementing a credit card payment solution for the
City would .be well received by residents and customers for its convenience and
security.
NOW,. THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD DOES
HEREBY RESOLVE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That the City Council of the City of Lynwood approves and
authorizes the Mayor to execute agreement from Elavon and Paypal to provide credit
card processing services for the City of Lynwood.
Section 2. This resolution shall go into effect immediately upon its adoption
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 17t" day of November 2009.
