RESOLUTION NO. 02 -4102
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
TEMPLE CITY ELECTING TO PAY EIGHT PERCENT OF
EMPLOYER PAID MEMBER CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE
CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT SYSTEM
FOR THE CITY'S LOCAL AGENCY MISCELLANEOUS
MEMBERS
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Temple City has the authority to implement
Government Code Section 20691; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Temple City has a written labor policy which
specifically provides for the normal member contributions to be paid by the employer, which up to this
time has been seven percent (7 %); and
WHEREAS, one of the steps in the procedures to implement Section 20691 is the adoption by the
City Council of the City of Temple City of a Resolution to commence or increase said Employer Paid
Member Contributions (EPMC); and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Temple City has identified the following conditions for
the purpose of its election to pay Employer Paid Member Contributions:
This benefit shall apply to all permanent full -time employees of the City of Temple City classified
as CaIPERS Local Agency Miscellaneous Members.
• This benefit shall consist of the City paying eight percent (8 %) of the normal member
contributions (EPMC).
• The effective date of this Resolution shall be Friday, August 23, 2002.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TEMPLE
CITY, AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City of Temple City elects to pay Employer Paid Member Contributions
(EMPC), as set forth above.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this resolution.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of July, 2002.
