A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LYNWOOD
AUTHORIZING THE SOLICITATION OF VENDORS THROUGH THE INFORMAL BID
PROCESS AND ALLOWING THE- 'MAYOR TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH
.PAGEANTRY PRODUCTIONS TO PRODUCE THE ANNUAL CANDY CANE LANE
CHRISTMAS PARADE FOR THE YEARS 2009 AND 2010 AND AUTHORIZING THE
ALLOCATION OF $26,000 PER YEAR FOR SAID SERVICES.
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood desires to host its Annual Candy Cane Lane
Christmas Parade with costs estimated at $26,000; and
WHEREAS, .parade coordination is a specialized field `,with Pageantry
Productions being a sole provider of all inclusive contracts; and ~' ~ '
WHEREAS, the City of Lynwood Purchasing Ordinance requires that contracts
for profession/special services in excess of Fifteen Thousand ($15,000) Dollars receive
approval of the City Council and the signature of the Mayor, or in his/her absence, the
Mayor Pro Tempore, pursuant to the .provisions of Gov. Code 40601 and 40602.; and
WHEREAS, section 6-3.13 of theLynwood Municipal Code allows for informal
bids with a 4/5 vote of the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL AS
.FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That, the City Council approves entering into a contractual
agreement with Pageantry Productions to produce the annual Candy Cane Lane
Christmas Parade for the years 2009 and 2010.
Section 2. Gives .authorization for the solicitation of bids 'for Parade
Coordinator through the"Informal bid process.
Section 3. That the City Manager is authorized to issue a purchase order in an
amount not to exceed $26,000 per year for said services.
Section 4. That the Mayor is authorized to execute an agreement with
Pageantry Productions to produce the annual Candy Cane Lane Parade for the years
2009 and 2010.
Section 5. That this resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption
PASSED, APPROVED and ADOPTED this 17th day of November, 2009.
